MarketStar has joined forces with Ski Utah, a marketing firm owned and operated by the state’s 14 ski resorts, to sponsor Utah’s top pro development cycling team for the 2011-2013 cycling seasons.
The Ski Utah-MarketStar cycling team will compete in races throughout the Intermountain West, including select National Racing Calendar events, while maintaining a strong presence in Utah Cycling Association events.
“MarketStar is excited to be participating with the Ski Utah cycling team,” said COO Aaron Hall. “With the growth and popularity of cycling in Utah, we wanted to be aligned to a great team and encourage our employees to get out and live an active and healthy lifestyle.”
The Ski Utah-MarketStar team will be the sponsored name of the Utah Premier Cycling club, which was established in the early 1990s and is currently a member of the USA Cycling Organization and the Utah Cycling Association. The ultimate goal of the team is to become the first Utah-based, International Cycling Union-registered team.
In the past two seasons, the team has won 35 Pro 1-2 races in five states and two countries. Two of the team’s former members now ride professionally, Chase Pinkham and Bradley Gehrig.
